Size: It's about half the size of Earth. 
Color: Mars is red due to iron oxide (rust) in its soil and atmosphere. 
Climate: Mars is very cold, with an average temperature of -80 degrees Fahrenheit (-63 degrees Celsius). 
Seasons: Like Earth, Mars has seasons because its axis is tilted. 
Moons: Mars has two moons, Phobos and Deimos. 
Gravity: Gravity on Mars is about one-third of Earth's gravity, meaning things weigh less. 
Atmosphere: Mars has a thin atmosphere, mostly made of carbon dioxide, which is not breathable for humans. 
Water: While there's no liquid water on the surface now, there's evidence of ancient floods, and scientists believe there may be water ice and liquid salty water in the ground. 
Rovers: NASA has sent rovers to Mars to explore its surface, like Curiosity and Perseveranc
